Jim, I am thinking that it was taken c. 1920, because Ellen died in 1924. Her married name was Mortel. Patrick O'Rourke's death certificate listed his place of birth as Limerick. His fathers name was Denis. I have not found any Denis in Limerick but I did find one in Leitrim County. Denis wife was named Mary, but I have not found a maiden name. Patrick had a sister Mary who married Daniel Rogan in Pittsburgh, James and John who also lived in Pittsburgh area. At the time of sister Mary Rogan it listed a sister Mrs. William Collins of Limerick. If any of this looks good let me know.
What a treasure to have! Hope you have a wonderful holiday season.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo. Do you know what year the photo was taken? My great grandmother was an O'Rourke from County Leitrim, Ireland.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I see according to Geneabloggers, today is your 4th year anniversary since you've been blogging. Happy Blogiversary.
Regards, Jim
